The 2023 Oscar nominated short film from Luxembourg La valise rouge (The Red Suitcase) by Cyrus Neshvad is screened at the Alliance Française in San Francisco on Friday March 15. The film was shot over six days in 2021, entirely at the Luxembourg airport.

In just 18 short minutes, “The Red Suitcase” manages to pack in enough anxiety and empathy to last a feature-length movie.

“La valise rouge/The red suitcase” is  a story brimming with suspense about a veiled 16-year-old Iranian teenager who just landed at Luxembourg airport. She is afraid to get her red suitcase and becomes more and more terrified by the prospect of going through the arrival gate.
