Vice Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Minister of the Economy Lex Delles visited Silicon Valley March 5 – 8 focusing on connectivity, artificial intelligence, space technologies and sustainability.
During their visit, both Ministers had meetings with Tech leaders, including PayPal, Microsoft, Lyten, Google and NVIDIA. The visit was successful in particular with regard to the support of technology partnerships with US innovators that have the potential to accelerate Luxembourg’s digital transformation.
At a ceremony held at the premises of autonomous driving leader Pony.ai, Luxembourg and Pony.ai signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on a collaborative partnership. The MoU with Luxembourg is a crucial step in its global expansion strategy, exploring opportunities in the European market.
During their visit to the Nasa Ames, Ministers Bettel and Delles underlined the close ties between Luxembourg and NASA and expressed their support for deepening the existing cooperation. Eugene Tu, Director of the Nasa Ames Research Center, is planning to visit Luxembourg in April 2024.
