La Distillerie (Château Bourglinster – Luxembourg), head chef René Mathieu, was voted the Best Vegetables Restaurant in the World for the second year in a row by green dining guide We’re Smart. Other accolades for Mathieu include a Michelin star, a Michelin green star for sustainability and a Gault&Millau honour as Luxembourg’s best chef. Mathieu not only uses locally farmed fruits and vegetables for his menu but is also an avid forager, incorporating plants from around the château in his creations.

The We’re Smart World team evaluates restaurants on whether their menus contain at least two-thirds of fruit and vegetables, their culinary creativity, ecological footprint and social impact.
